Has anyone been using this Beta version? I downloaded it last night and had a brief play with 'writer'. It looks better and they've moved the word count function onto the tools menu so it's easier to find.
They've also included 'base' which I'm assuming is their version of Access. Is this any goood?
It can be downloaded here

As a free alternative to Office, I think this is unbeatable.
I wish they'd include a grammar checker though!0 -
Yes, its great... although I was even impressed with version 1.9 (which is now the 2.0 Beta).
The release of 2.0 has been delayed until June/July as there is a shortage of developers who are not linked to Sun Microsystems; as reported in today's osnews.

I've had the previous two versions and would highly recommend them. I still can't believe that people buy MS Office just because that's all they know. I'm getting my mum a laptop soon and that will have Open Office and Mozilla Thunderbird & Firefox put straight onto it. She doesn't know any differnt and she might as well start off on the right track!0

gorrila open office is great (I like it and use it). But MS Office is much better. It is very powerful compared to open office e.g. How simple it is, what it can do etc. If you don't take cost into consideration then MS Office would easily win.
