Any money in surveys?

Just wondering if there is anything decent to be made from taking online surveys? One of my friends uses myvoice.co.uk but only makes about £40 a year from it, a nice little extra but im looking for something a bit more substantial. I've found sites like wowitworked.com/get-paid-for-answering-surveys/ via a quick google search that promise a good return but just not sure how much they can make in the long run?
Any other sites you can recommend would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Susan

I wouldn't believe things that sites like the one you quoted say - they are noramlly just trying to persuade you to sign up through their links to earn them referral fees.
You will not get rich through doing surveys (you might make a few hundred quid a year - depending on how your demographics fit the survey site's requirements).0 -
Valued Opinions is an alright one, I like Slice The Pie too. You can earn quite a large chunk of money by going along to focus groups but you need to register with the companies first. I'm signed up to Research Opinions and Focus Force. I've not had anything through from FF but with RO I made £75 a couple of weeks ago.0

Thanks for your replies. Research Options sounds like a good one to look into. Not heard of slice the pie (i like that name though).

From a mixture of different income streams - freelancing, affiliate websites and self-publishing are the main ones.0 -
It's good if you sign up to LOADS of sites but if you just sign up to a couple there isn't much money to be made. When I first started I used ilovefreebies and signed up to 90% of the survey sites they have and last month I made £70 from it.£2013 in 2013 challenge - £2235.75/£20130

I have been on 2 survey sites for the last 2 and half years and made about £1200.....
So there is money to be made if you are the right profile.....and tell a few white lies.
Got one survey im doing now paying £100.
Had another for £50, another £40 and another £35.
Rest range from a few pence to a few quid.0 -
Kawaton is right that you have access to many more surveys than usual if you lie to the survey site and tell them you do something or have access to something you really quite don't but feel like fibbing on.
However, being honest is still an option, though you'll make less. You'll want to dedicate an email address to receiving survey emails as you will be receiving 5-10 each day depending on how many sites you sign up for. You can finish each survey within 2-5 minutes usually so you'll be spending at most, an hour a day on filling out surveys.
Payout depends on the site. There are some sites with specialized surveys where they pay you $2 or so but other sites where they only pay twenty cents. I made $200 (about £131) last year, so it's not exactly something you'll be living off of but you will get some extra pocket change that can be used for presents at the holidays, paying for petrol, or something new you want to buy yourself.
I think there are a couple threads in this sub-forum that include a LOT of survey sites, either International or UK.0 -
If you hammer the survey and cashback sites you can probably make 1k a year or more, maybe 1.5 - 2k but that's doing them daily, a few hours a day. It's slave labour really. Now if you were doing that as a hobby in addition to a full time job, and stopping in to save and make money it's a nice bonus but as for it being a 'job' it just doesn't but it. It really is slave labour for the time spent.0

I agree with Kirsty1000000, you really have to spend a bit of time doing all the little ones but if you have got the time, they are probably worth it :-)0

Hi there!
Could anyone please share the survey sites that they feel are decent, i.e. having had a good experience all around and money-wise, of course...
Also any focus groups - especially if there are any currently in the West Midlands!
Many thanks - I do appreciate your time!
Kelly
