Ppi garage very unhelpful help!!!

My partner has asked me to help him reclaim ppi that was attached to a bank loan without his knowledge I did this by following all the steps and within 4 weeks we were paid over £2500 from Yorkshire bank! Then the nightmare began we are Also claiming on a car loan taken out in 2004 from dews garage! The lady who sold my partner the loan told Him he had to have ppi in order to get the loan we feel this is a miss sell as this is untrue! We wrote to barclaycard motor loans who provided the loan and after investigating they told us although they provided the loan they didn't provide the ppi so they wrote to the garage with the original loan agreements which shows ppi and cost per month but not who supplied it! Now we have rung the garage after not hearing anything for a month the woman was very unhelpful basically saying she didn't know who would deal with it and couldn't help! So where do we go from here ? Do we write to Barclays again or the garage ?

You complain to whoever sold it to you, but this sale was pre-regulation so they can dismiss it if they want to. If they dismiss it, you have nowhere else to go and your complaint is over.
You have a very slim, practically zero chance of going after the underwiter of the insurance but you will have to find who that is, but first, you need a response from the garage.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
As -taff said, the garage don't have to consider your complaint as it is prior to regulation (january 2005).M they wrote to the garage with the original loan agreements which shows ppi and cost per month but not who supplied it!
I doubt very much you'll even get a response.

Garage almost certainly to response by saying go away, we were not regulated and wont consider your complaint. We wrote to barclaycard motor loans who provided the loan and after investigating they told us although they provided the loan they didn't provide the ppi
Which is correct. If currys mis-sell you a TV you dont complain to panasonic.Do we write to Barclays again or the garage ?
Barclays have no liability. The garage has the liability. However, this is pre-regulation. The fact the garage dont know what to do either suggests poor staff training or perhaps they never applied for FSA regulation from 2005 and dont deal in FSA regulated areas. So, therefore do not have to apply with FSA requirements.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
