Thanks all for your input. Definitely agree the outside could do with a lick of paint. I appreciate the colour scheme of the lounge/diner isn't to everyones taste, each to their own
Admittedly when I decorated I did it all to my taste as I didn't envisage wanting to move. Agree that the price is a definite factor here. It's only just been reduced to £139,950 so I'm keen to test the water for a couple of weeks. If still no interest, I'll go back to the drawing board! Thanks again

Is there anything you can do to brighten the lounge; possibly cushions in a bright colour, open the blinds and remove the rugs (for the photos and the viewings), a bright plant on the dining table?Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
getting a mortgage on property isn't easy these days and unless a buyer has a good deposit the house will need to pass on the wiring, roof , and damp proof,
if your house needs a rewire, I would say get it done , you are then opening up to a larger market , FTB with little money over after deposit would be very interested in your house
shame its not in Carmarthenshire area
it looks just what we are looking for0 -
1st impression
Kerb appeal poor, house looks filthy, wheelie bins in pic etc
Hall, lot of orange pine could do with lick of paint
Lounge, black feature wallpaper, black chandalier and curtains is a showstopper!
Kitchen, OK needs declutter of fridge magnets etc
Main bed, position of bed in alcove suggest it's small
Bed 2, only room for a single?
Bed 3, no picture
Bathroom, OK, don't like orange pine bath panel
Back garden, nice, low maintenance adds to the house
I'd suggest repaint of front of house and neutral decor in lounge are your priorities.0 -
There's no floor plan. Personally speaking that puts me off as I can't see the layout of the property. I would get your agent to put one up ASAP.0

that's a good point from scottishblondie,
I couldn't care less what colour the deco is , the room layout is more important , although the outside wouldn't inspire me to book a viewing at your current asking price

The front and the photo of the front are a shame as I think its looks a nice house inside that could make a good family home.
When you've done a bit of work on the front getting some pots etc get the EA to redo the photo. On the new photo get the bins out the way and get them to come at a time of day when the lighting will produce a better picture. The angle / position of the photo is also not the best, its taken close and so it is angled upwards. Maybe try taking the photo from the other side of the street.
If they are coming to re-photo the front then I'd probably get them to redo the reception shots with the blinds open, which should help add colour and break up the black.
A floor plan would really help particularly as the largest bedroom is only being shown with a single bed, both the bedrooms pictured do not look as large as the measurements indicate.
Is the front large enough to park a car? if so that should be mentioned in the particulars.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
If you search with half a mile of the postcode, there are 20 cheaper properties all with 3 bedrooms...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Sorry - but.......Price.
No radiators to 1st bedroom, lounge and dining-room - so not full central heating
Tired bathroom suite
Rendering to front elevation in desperate need of a paint job
Metal windows and front door - coming to end of lifespan
Decorating a curious mix of 80's orange pine and rather too much black in the reception rooms
What's the boiler like - EA description mentions water tank so I'm guessing not an energy efficient boiler.
Another poster queried the wiring.
This is a first time buyers house, second stepper maybe. Either way they won't have much money for renovation work.
The price is too high for the amount of work needing to be done.0
