For all you MSE's (as Vent)
Margaret Hodge: 'The tax you owe is a duty. It's an obligation'
Define the word 'owe'
background in the Guardian
Transmission Radio 4 evening 26/05/2013, a Google representative asserted tax avoidance was a political
issue and is for politicians to 'sort out'.
Earlier this week Margaret Hodge was emailed and asked to provide a public response to the above, and to set an example for other MP's to follow.
In her reply she has: -
1. declined to reply to the position defined by Google.
2. It terms of setting an example, "...that this is an area we should all be looking at."
2. declined to confirm her own family are NOT involved in any tax avoidance scheme.
The Parliamentary Standards Commissioner has recently confirm that:-
"The rules relating to the registration of interests are available online .......the rules relating to the registration of land and property are set out under category 8. It does not however include home addresses or any information about Members’ tax affairs.
Does this mean 'Hodges law' is do as I say not as I do ...........
