NTKrnl.exe

My OH keeps getting a popup saying that the Ntkrnl.exe has been blocked from accessing the internet. Sygate has it is allowed and we don't use the xp firewall. Any ideas how to keep this from popping up, ticking the box in the corner makes no difference. She used to get the same problem on the old win2k comp, I don't on my xp box. Its not a problem but a flamin nuisance.

    Hi Peter_the _Piper,

Are you running an up to date antivirus software? If you google Ntkrnl.exe many references to virus's and trojans.

I'd make sure my antivirus was up to date and do a full system scan to start.

Hi, Yes we run service pack 2 with all current updates. We both use AVG Free which are always up to date They both run automatically once a day.As well as these we use a Speedtouch 585v6 router with firewall/Nat which gave a full set of green lights when I tested it the other day.

go into Sygates control panel by clicking on the icon on the bottom right of the screen, then click on the Applications tab.

scroll down the list and tick any items you recognise with a question mark against them , there is one for Ntkernel

worse case remove sygate and try comodo free firewall

Ntkrnl is unblocked in sygate, I did block again and then unblock but no luck. Will probably give comodo a whirl this evening.
    Thanks.
