Hi,
I just got a new car insurance with Halifax and while filling up the form I ticked the box that said that i have a steering wheel inmobilizer, which is one I purchased many years ago. Halifax is asking me now for a copy of the system fitment certificate which I obviously do not have and they say that without it the insurance may be cancelled. What do I need to do?

Which one? Looking at their website it is a drop down list for "Alarm/Immobiliser". Which option exactly did you chose from the list?
Ultimately you need to say that you have mistakenly stated that your steering wheel lock is an immobiliser and hope they accept it as an honest mistake and thus allow you to pay an additional premium for the mistake.
What vehicle is it on? Its been some time since cars were built without immobilisers0 -
Thanks for your response.
The car is fifteen years old and imported from Spain. I have asked the the company that sold it to me as I believe the keys have some kind of codification...0 -

Unfortunately that doesnt help too much but if it is that old then it may not have one and find out may not be possible via websites.
You also didnt mention what you actually stated the vehicle had from the drop down list.0
