Market Research - Surveys

Hi All,
As a vital part of my market research I have designed an online survey/questionnaire, mainly tick box answers to a total of 9 questions which does not require any personal details. Although my business can appeal to a national audience, I'm hoping specifically to have the survey filled in by a more local audience purely as most of my customers are located within say 10-15 miles.
I'm struggling to think of a suitable strategy to get enough responses to make it worthwhile. I've thought about offering a prize but hand on heart I don't really have much of a fund for this. I have thought about offering £xx off my services for the winner but feel that because my business is in the "emergency" bracket this may not appeal enough for people to take the 3mins out of their time the survey would require (by emergency, I'm talking about Plumbers, RAC, etc who you only call when when you have a problem).
Have also thought about distributing to friends/family on Facebook but do not want my personal relationships to influence their answers in a more positive light so to speak, as this would affect the quality of the results - perhaps giving me biased answers.
If anyone is able to offer an insight or the benefit of their experience I would be very thankful!

I may be wrong but I am sure I have filled in short surveys that people have put on here.
I am sure as long as you are not directly promoting your business and you are not asking for personal details then some people would be happy to help with your research.
I fill out lots of surveys and am very rarely compensated so it is not always expected.
Good Luck in your business.

According to the latest forum rules, surveys are only permitted on the Surveys Board
... although it looks like this only started in April.(or maybe even May based on when the first survey was posted there)0 -
