Cheap place to stay on south coast near nice beach??

Wow I have never booked a proper uk holiday before...they are so expensive!! It's my partners 30th in August (most expensive time!) and we were looking at going somewhere cornwall/devon type area for 2 weeks..with the hope of nice beaches, nice walks and nice food..
Can anyone recommend anywhere cheap but nice?? the perfect place would be a small caravan with cooking facilities/shower on a farm or field somewhere really quiet, no bars or holiday clubs etc etc.. Just a nice base for us to stay where we can take day trips from in the car.. probably impossible as this would be classed as "glamping" and a premium added!!

School holidays is always profit and crowds time for companies. Can you not wait till the kids are back in school - unless you have children.

We used Park resorts in May as they take our 1 large dog. We did not use the bars and clubs, entertainment side.
