Should I agree to be rent guarantor for my dad?

My dad and sister are looking to rent a new place together. My mum has just had to go into a care home and my dad is so lonely on his own. They both rent separately at the moment. Dad is 89, has approx £120k in savings, but this has been split now so that half is available to pay mums care home fees. The y sold the family…

I'm not suggesting for a second this is the case for the OP, but not all LLs would be blinded to all other considerations for the sake of 6 months rent. Once a tenant is in, it is quite costly and time-consuming to get them out, so it may not be enough to persuade the LL that they are worth the risk if the rent could potentially dry up in 6 months' time.

I hope your dad and sister get sorted OP.
