Sounds like the mortgage application is being processed using your excellent Experian report. Only mortgage (and other credit) application search footprints can affect your credit score so just make sure, at the end of the process, that they have only registered one of these. The other searches don't count and it's not unusual to see a few during a mortgage application as they conduct various checks. Good luck.

I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

Equifax: Score of 404. Credit rating "fair"

    - shows 4 missed payments

Worthless perhaps at this point in time?

An Experian representative claiming the OP has an 'excellent' report...because Experian are not reporting data correctly.

    Astonishing.

Actually to be fair to Experian I think it's down to the individual company to report credit info to each credit reference agency isn't it? Because my H&M credit file doesn't show on Experian or Noddle, only on Equifax. Also, Equifax represented this information wrongly, so I can't say I'm particularly impressed with any of my reports to date.

His EQUIFAX report shows 4 missed payment, not his Experian one.

Hi guys, I have signed up to both experian and equifax to check my credit score and got two very different results:
Every time you apply for credit, the potential lender will calculate a brand new credit score for you. So you don't have one (or two) credit scores, you have a brand new one each time.

Secondly, the scores from Experian and Equifax are not really credit scores because you are not applying for credit. They are just a numerical representation of the data Experian (or Equifax) hold about you.
