Car Insurance Overlap

Hello everyone,
My car insurance runs out on the 10th June, and I renewed my car insurance last night with another company, due to start on the 9th.
Has this happened to anyone before, and where do I stand if I was to have an accident on the 9th.
A little worried now, as i'm parking my car in Manchester city centre over night on Saturday, and worried that a drunken yob might find it funny to attack my car and i'll be in a right mess!
My new insurance is with Quote me Happy and they are a real nightmare to contact as they are online only.
Your help is appreciated!

The main problem isnt so much the issue of a claim happening on that date, the insurers share the cost of the claim in most cases. The real problem is that you cannot use your NCD from the policy that runs out on the 10th on the policy you have commencing on the 9th because an NCD can only be used on one policy at a time and so cannot be on both for the day of the 9th0

See if you can cancel with qmh and start again with the correct start date.
Read up on them here and on the net and you might want to look elsewhere for your new policy,0 -

I'm confused? Surely all I need to do is call my existing insurer and ask them to send me my NCD after my insurance has finished, and then send to QMH? Is that wrong?0 -
That for 1 day you want to use it on two policies at the same time.
For the sake of 1 day QMH may turn a blind eye alternatively they will say that the NCD isnt valid and so add back on the discount they'd applied plus an admin fee (or cancel the policy for fraud)0 -
It will be easier for you to cancel the QMH policy and start again - read up on them here and on the net!
Alternatively, (and with expense!), cancel your current policy a day early, (invoking cancellation fee + loss of current year's NCD), then you will have your NCD to use on your new policy, though it will be one year less than you were expecting which may be significant if you had less than the max at the start of the policy!0
