When you talk about document, do you mean writing it down? And or passing to manager? Should i e-mail the boss with my corncerns about the course so that it is documented?
I work for a large company.
Sorry I meant that you should be keeping a record of it for yourself - The fact that you are being taken down a capability route could as I'm sure you are aware lead to your dismissal although hopefully it won't come to that but it would be a good idea to document things such as the course taking place a week before the expiry of your warning and when you raised this as a concern with your Manager.0 -
Yes, write absolutely everything down (with times and dates) and keep copies of everything relevant/related.0

Okay, I shall document all my concerns with as much detail as I can remember and keep this safe just in case I need it.

The 6th of April question was asked by the way as when you joined affects if its after 1 year or 2 years that you can take an Employer to Tribunal over unfair dismissal - In your case it would be after 2 years Employment with the company that you could make such a claim.0

Correct so ultimately OP how the company proceed is largely irrelevant until after the 2 year period for yourself and any errors they make in good practice have no real bearing on the result.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
Hi
I've just been given my first written warning at work and looking for some advice.
Is it a legal requirement to inform an employee in advance of the untisfactory performance meeting? In my case, I was asked at my desk to have a chat with my manager ( previously had a few unformal meetings) and we went to a private room to discuss it. Does this make the first warning invalid?
One of the items surrounds daily reporting of sales and how the e-mail weren't up to standard. I accept this point, however when I'm on annual leave, colleagues cover me and make lots of mistakes yet there is not even a talk from the boss about the errors. Is this discrimination?
How does this first written warning stand on my record and getting references from this place. If you received a warning, is it a good hint to leave? How do you get rid of the warning on your file?
Thanks guys
You've had some informal meetings and now a written warning. If you insist on trying to store up their errors for future use against them; you might find this will come back to bite you on the !!!!.
Take it as it is - it's a warning. Step up to the mark and up your game.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0 -
I find it hard to step up when I am being over worked ( mentioned in meeting).
For example I went into work sunday evening and was there till 1am so - could have enough analysis to support the departments view on sales. I shall highlight that in order to do this work, it has resulted in doing additional hours of which this work was not appreciated at all. This analysis was taken as granted with no thanks.."No likey no need to hit thanks button!":pHowever its always nice to be thanked if you feel mine and other people's posts here offer great advice:D So hit the button if you likey:rotfl:0 -
Just try doing the job you are being paid to do in the hours you are being paid to work. Rather than trying to do additional tasks all night long. Seems a simple solution.Sanctimonious Veggie. GYO-er. Seed Saver. Get in.0
