Stanley Flasks

I need a bit of advice in which way to go with a small Stanley Flask I have had replaced under their lifetime guarantee about 4 times in the last 18-24 months.
The reason I purchased one (not cheap at circa £15) was the guarantee of a replacement and the "stay hot for 12 hours" statement which to be fair the first one did for around 6 months. My wife has a similar one from same company which does the job it says it does.
The first flasks liquids then started to lose heat and the body of the flask became warm/hot to touch indicating the loss of heat so I contacted the company Burton McCall who are the distributors for Stanley and to be fair to them they replaced it with no questions asked and sent a replacement. This i have done on around 4 occasions with a brand new one arriving each time only for the same thing to happen again - loss of heat in the liquids used (after following instructions given).
I am in 2 minds on how to proceed with taking this further than just keep on replacing the flask every few months as each one I have received tends to do the same thing, lose its heat with the body becoming warm/hot to the touch after a while. Is it worth contacting the ASA over its claim of keeping liquids hot for 12 hours and longer, contacting Trading Standards or writing to the MD of either Burton McCall (who are just the distribution company) or Stanley which is an American company and if so where do I find a direct contact to write to?

If they keep replacing then that's the best option. Don't see what you would gain from the Asa or writing to the md. 24 months for £15 is already pretty good value for money too.0

its just a pain in the rear having to keep on replacing them though (around every 6 months) and whilst in the scheme of things £15 isn't a massive amount I just dont like purchasing sub standard goods.
Thanks for the quick reply though!0 -
I have also had this problem with the Stanley Food flask and have had mine replaced twice.
My co-worker also had one as did my sister and they all had the same problem.
In the end I just got fed up and cut my losses and bought one called 'Pioneer' from Amazon which was recommended to me.
I am surprised Stanley are still selling these flasks as the reviews are terrible and they are truly useless.
I would give up sending them back and buy an alternative if I was you.0 -
Or see the £15 as good value while it lasted, chuck it in the bucked and buy a different brand. Is it worth all this hasle, throw it away and get on with your life.0

Vacuum seal failing? Open the next one and fill it with the tiny polystyrene beads or even the small perlite crystals.
Perlite is brilliant stuff for insulation. I put a 1cm layer on a newspaper and put a gas torch to the top. It glowed brightly and absolutely no burning to the paper.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
i have 2 of these flasks. one bought late last year, the handle has broken, one bought in feb this year wont even keep water warm now.
had to have the stopper replaced on one of them, it was faulty from new.
have just e-mailed burton-mccoll.
i thought stanley with a lifetime guarantee would be a good quality long lasting flask!0
