Barclaycard credit file error

Options
Need some advise please, I'm trying for the right to us my council home of 20 years but a few years ago had a despite with Barclaycard over a £20 surcharge, that escalated into £400 and is registered as a default on my credit score.

I went to the ombudsman and they agreed the default was wrong and have ruled in my favour for Barclaycard to clear my credit score within 8 weeks allowing me to apply for a mortgage with piece of mind.

After 8 weeks of waiting Barclaycard have refused and tell me they have no intention of clearing my record unless I pay them the money. Which after 5 years is more of a principle now not to pay despite the fact I can't afford to pay it.

I'm now confused big time and don't now what to do next, a mortgage is a no go without a clean record and the council are waiting on my finances for the right to buy to go ahead.

Thanks in advance

Presumably the decision was made on the basis that you clear the debt. If you fail to clear the debt now, then you are in default. You play hardball, so will the bank.
