Hi All
Im after some information on what i can do at this point.
I purchase a IPad 2 back in August 2012 as a gift from Vodafone.
I ended up returning it within the 7days limit as it was unwanted.
Total Cost was just under £300
They have accepted it as a return, no problem on that part. Coming upto June 2013 i still haven't been paid back my Money.
Iv chased it up a few time at the start, gave my account number on 3 separate occasions.
Been away for the last few months and have just found out that this has still not been paid back to me.
received a statement from Vodafone saying my account is in credit for that amount.
My question is:
Is it not illegal for them to keep my money when i returned the goods.
Gave my account number on 3 separate occasions.
Am i due compensation for this.

How did you pay?
What we need is clarification on that point; although you say you haven't had a refund you also say your 'account' is in 'credit' for the amount of the refund.
Is this a Vodafone customer account? Your bank account?Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Thanks for the reply
I paid with my credit card.
They have sent me a monthly statement, which does say my account is in credit for the amount owed.
They just don't seem to pay it back into my account.
On 3 separate occasions iv explained it to the customer service representative that this is owed to me, they have never disputed it. Take my bank account no and info and say the money will be there in within 10 days.
The money has never showed up.
Iv heard all the "we're sorry sir" the money will be there this time.
Id been away for a while so did not get to chase it up. The latest Vodafone statement came through in April showing my account in credit for that owed amount.
I don't have any accounts with Vodafone (other than this one that they seem to have me on).
What rights do i have, hence posting in the consumers right forum.
Can i take any legal action.0 -
Do you have a Vodaphone mobile contract?0
-
Did you purchase in a store or online?
Was it opened and used at all?
If bought in a shop you would have to check their returns policy, they may only give credit and no actual money back.0 -
I purchased it online, they have accepted it as a returned good.
I don not have an account with them
Also why would they take my bank account no/sort code and say you will have the money back within 10 days, if they not going to pay??0 -
When you rang Vodafone today, and said "you have credited this back to a Vodafone account rather than my bank account, please can you now transfer it to my bank account?", what did they say?0
-
They should refund it to your credit card, not a debit account or bank account.0

Hi mazcaz,
I'm sorry to see that you're yet to receive your refund.
If you'd like me to get this chased up could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee

Yep, that's worth 20 grand, easy, for the distress, trauma and suffering.
There's a secret EU law about it.
Erm, actually the OP should be entitled to a sum to cover the loss of use of their money, in the form of an interest payment.
In the same way that when someone owes Vodafone money, they would also charge interest and recovery costs.
Now, can we stop this silly "you can never have any compo" game?0
