so sorry to hear how the school treated you ...how dare they .... to me that is a form of bullying making you feel like that and school employees should know better .... I reckon they are up to their a*** in debt and haven't got the b***s to go BR ... hold your head high and have the last laugh when you pay for everything in future in cash .. i wouldn't give them the satisfaction of looking down on you by asking about a grant ... i would use what little extra cash you have over to kit your kids out with new shoes etc and smile as they go through those school gates ..xxBR as of 26th April 2007 and feeling 10 years younger :T
If only ex could be sorted as easily :wall:0 -
Thanks for saying all that Vixen. As a Mum in a small community where all the other Mums are very well off and there is onr class per year - I shall be the talk of the town. There was already gossip when I changed my car from a Mercedes to a battered Vectra!
My little school has sent a letter our recently that they only want cheques for school dinners now as this is much more convenient...so packed lunches it is.
We watched The Pursuit of Happyness last night as a family and all sat there just hugging each other and crying.
There have been some judgemental posters on here but to be honest the kindness of others and the support and real worthwhile advice has completely overshadowed the others.
If you are not facing BRY then why even look on here or post? They must have some real issues in their own lives to deal with surely?0 -
There is nothing shameful about asking for a grant, it's more shameful to make the kids go without a winter coat.Barclaycard 3800

Who do you apply to, for the grant and what is it called. (And I don't think the poster meant send your kid to school with no coat:rotfl: that really would be mean)

Looking at it another way, maybe the school is just trying to help (although I find it very strange that they called you in!)
Our son has gone on a few school trips lately, and although there is a 'help' fund available,we have never asked for any help, always just gritting our teeth and paying the full amount,as we feel there are always people in a worse situation than us who need the help.Last week we received a letter from the school out of the blue saying that they are going to subsidise 2 of our sons school trips! This was a shock,as we had not asked for any help.Do they know we a re Br? Maybe, but if they do I would hope they keep it a s a private matter.0 -
no more excuses i know you probably didnt mean anything bad but i felt that to state that unless "If you are not facing BRY then why even look on here or post? They must have some real issues in their own lives to deal with surely?" i look here to see how people are getting on and willing them to do great i do have issues in my own life i need to get my debt sorted of that i have never denied but i like to pop over the way every now and then and hope and see the support you all give each other ...0

We live in a very affluent area (06/07 Range Rovers all over the place) My daughters best friend is a millionnaire (daddy's a publisher in London) The school is treated like a private school by the locals, and pour money into it. I don't think the school were trying to help.
For 2 years they have tried to say that my son's Asperger's was caused by our poor parenting, obviously that is ludicrus, but now they are delighting in the terrible 'pressure' we have been under and how deeply that must have affected us and our children.
i.e. yet again confirmation that we caused his problems.
We had to remove him from the school in Jan. He is currently not receiving an education.
Our daughter's now attend the school and behave perfectly and are friends with all the millionnaires. How lovely darling.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -
Does not sound like a very nice school! We too live in a very affluent area (although I suspect most of them are 'on the edge' with credit)0
