Bankruptcy board

Anyone who thinks that Bankruptcy is an easy option, should try being called into your children's school office to have the headteacher and secretary tell you, that they know you are bankrupt.
You should try having the local garage being contacted by an Official Receiver and taking your car away.
You should having your personal and deeply painful financial affairs being aired in the local rag, thus becoming the latest topic of gossip in the playground and at work.
Prior to all of this, you should meet with a well-dressed well to do judge who has analysed your pathetic embarrassing financial affairs and declares you bankrupt.
You should try having a snotty nosed clerk, turn his nose up at you as he checks your forms and takes them to the judge.
It is not easy and it is truly unpleasant at times, but it is the very bottom and you can only come up, and things can only get better.
Facing bankruptcy is scary, lonely, embarrassing and deeply painful.
Posting here is frightening the first few times and it will be all the worse for the horrendous posts that are appearing. I was scared to post anyway, and I never read anything like what is going on now.
We all need to think of others and put a stop to this.

Vix, that post reduced me to tears, real tears, some slightly self-pitying tears.
I've just sobbed all over my boiled egg and marmite soldiers.
Wonderful post Vix.The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
why on earth did the school need to know and call you in ????
It hadn't even crossed my mind about the school knowing ..BR as of 26th April 2007 and feeling 10 years younger :T

They didn't NEED to know, they found out, and due to the county council taking 6 weeks to cash a cheque, the £33, dinner money cheque I had paid in good faith was cancelled. They said they'd all had a chat about us being BR....anyway it was mortifying. Staff saw it in the paper. I felt really low that day. It was the week before last.:starmod: I am not that savage :heartpuls But I am a Vixen :staradmin0 -

That's really bad Foxy,
One of our son's lecturer's keeps making thinly veiled comments about bankruptcy in tutorials. Unfortunately he'll also be marking some of his exam assignments so I'll have to bide my for the moment; having said that once the results are finalised I'll be "requesting" an explanation and apology.

Not sure if this is helpful or not but you can apply for agrant for school coat/shoes and help paying for school trips. Since they are aware of your situation they should be more helpful. Other than that it's no-one elses business.
I know I've never been bankrupt hopefully never will but I've stood in the school office and admitted I have no money, been out shopping and had my card declined. The boys called scruffy because they have cheap clothes some second hand.Barclaycard 3800

Bh,
Children can be so cruel and I really can sympathise with you where your boys are concerned.

Hi wdiag,
It does make me wonder about the guy's financial situation because difficult to see any other reason for the comments he makes, maybe he was owed money by somebody who went bankrupt? Paid for a job to be done and the tradesman went bust leaving the job undone? Who knows?
