Divorce Costs Liability
Divorcing

Hi All
I am the respondent in divorce proceedings and am a bit (alot!) worried about the costs racking up, especially by my stbx as she is making some ridiculous assertions:
1. That I have siphoned 10s of thousands away before our separation, this is completely untrue and I I have no savings or assets whatsoever apart from the matrimonial home.
2. That the marital home was held in trust for our children. Again this is untrue, we had said it would be our legacy to our children but anyone can change their will to what they want at anytime.
With regard to spousal maint I have made a lump sum offer by way of her having a greater share in the marital property and therefore benefiting from the equity when our children finish their education. With me obviously continuing to pay child maint.
Can anyone please advise on the likely liability of costs in contested financial proceedings with regards to in the following circumstances:
1. Found that Marital home was ours and not the trusts and I have not siphoned any monies and my offer was reasonable.
2. As above but my offer was insufficient.
3. Found that either of the above assertions by my stbx were true.
Basically I am worried that she is going to rack up a huge legal bill making spurious, unsubstantiated and untrue allegations and I'll be ordered to pay that.
Any advice gratefully received, thanks in advance.
