can anyone reccommend the cheapest place to buy dvd -/+ recordable. Ideally I need DVD 8GB.

I saw a post here a few weeks ago but I can't find it anymore

i'd recommend svp as well, especially if you use the google checkout or you can use paypal

You can get TDK 25 pack for £5.55 from Amazon....can get free delivery if you add things!!!

I think the op is looking for DUAL layer (mentioned 8gb, though I may be wrong). I would also add my name to the svp fan club. Personally I would recommend Fortis (about 80p each) or if you've got plenty of cash then Verbatim (quite expensive at about £1.50 each:eek: ). Make sure your dvd recorder firmware is up to date though.

Thanks for the above info as I was looking as well.

I know this is not the Techie forum but would someone please advise me what the difference is between - & + rewriteable and which I should buy to record to and then play on my home DVD player.

Briefly, they're rival "standards", in that they were developed by competing manufacturers (I think).

In practice, most DVD players will play both (although check the documentation first, which will say), but to be absolutely sure, use the "-" format, since this is the official format for DVDs. I think pretty much every DVD player will have to be able to play DVD-R.
