Yorkshire Theme Park Advice

We are staying in Knaresborough on holiday and want to go to a local theme park. Kids are 4 and nearly 2. Which would be best Lightwater Valley or Flamingo Land. Really just want to know which is best for their age although distance to park, time it takes to walk from car to entrance and prevalence of wasps is also a consideration.

i had the exact same decision to make when I had holiday in North Yorkshire. My boys at the time were 4 and 3. I decided on Flamingo Land as looking on both websites it looked to have the better options for the younger visitors. My boys enjoyed the rides and the animals.
Other members of our group also went to Lightwater Valley and told me that it was aimed more at the older kids with not much for little ones.
  • Without a shadow of a doubt, Flamingoland is by far the better theme park.

Lightwater valley is dreadful and seriously needs someone to redesign it.

I wouldn't really pay the fees into Flamingo land for children that young. I used to take mine to creepy crawlies in York (it has an outdoor and inddor play area so the british weather can't spoil it lol) http://www.webadventurepark.co.uk/attractions_creepies.htm

We also used to go to Big Sheep Little Sheep, http://www.farmattraction.co.uk/

I would also second Creepy Crawlies, also Valley Gardens in Harrogate (free) Temple Newsham Farm in Leeds (cheap) Thorp Arch (wetherby) has Indoor soft play 'crazy tikes' but a lovely free outdoor playground too. heskwith farm near Bolton Abbey is excellent, as is Doncaster wildlife park and newby Hall near Ripon.
