Halifax £100 to switch delay

I signed up for the Halifax £100 switch when it was mentioned in the weekly email Martin sends out about 3 or 4 weeks ago.
I signed up, got accepted and received my card and pin through the post within about a week.
They had to send a separate code through to access online or phone banking, which turned up this weekend. I keep checking my balance every time I pass a cash point and the money is still not in there, their paperwork says it takes 3 working days once the account is open to put the money into my account.
I phoned them yesterday and they claimed I signed up during the extension of the offer and the only way to claim the money is to raise a complaint! Not happy already with their service!
I also mentioned I am concerned about paying my bills as I don't want them to !!!!-up the switch, their advice is to have all the money for my direct debits both in my current and the new Halifax account. That's half my wages in DDs- I cant afford to have that sat in 2 accounts whilst they mess around! Surely this is the point in a switch?
Has anybody else had similar problems with getting the £100 they promised?

Regarding the switch, you could take control of the highest amount DDs (e.g. rent or mortgage) and switch it yourself. Cancel that DD from the old account and contact whomever you're paying and give them the details of your new account.

For the rest of the DDs, make sure you have enough funds in the account that doesn't have an overdraft facility...

I switched during the easter bank holiday using their switching service and had the £60 credited to my account the day it was opened i was gutted a few weeks later they increased it to £100.:(

I had a problem during the switch with direct debits being returned even though they said there would a 0% overdraft for first few months. I wasn't at all impressed, the only advise i can give you is to check both accounts each day in the morning so that you can transfer money to pay the direct debits.

I phoned up about the return DD and was told that if i would have paid money in by 3pm that day the payments would have been processed. I checked in the evening so was too late to do anything about it. I was worried at the time as this as never happened to me before.

I did recieve letters and emails from some company's acknowledging the change in details but not all.

I'm currently switching to Santander which seems to be going much better.

Just do it. Then they'll dig out the original application. You won't get the money any other way. Nobody else can do it.

There's supposed to be a switching date, but a lot of payees tend to jump the gun. That's why you're supposed to have a free overdraft.

If you haven't got the overdraft, you can log in every morning and move the money in for any DDs that appear to be going out.
