The vendors in this thread remind me of the story of the bloke who went into a shop to buy a spade.
He was told the spades cost £10.
"£10!" he said, "the shop down the road sells them for a fiver"
"Well go down the road and buy one" said the shopkeeper.
They havent got any" said the customer.
"When we havent got any, we sell them for three quid" said the shopkeeper
"Great" said the customer. "I'll come back when you havent got any!"
Applying the same logic, the vendors dont seem to understand that people who think it is worth the amount they want either cant afford it, or cant get a mortgage for it (which means they also cannot afford it!)
Its a fine line between playing hardball and burning your bridges, but in your shoes I would be prepared to walk away and ask 'would you prefer a bid of £325k that will complete, or wait for another bid of £335k that wont?0 -
