Hi there,
If you buy this brand please read - if you don't then it prob won't be of interest to you (to save you time reading it if not relevant!
)
One of my cats has a major stomach sensitivity issue going on - if she eats anything other than the above mentioned biccys she vomits :eek:
But I thought I'd better make any of you who buy this stuff aware that it seems that the ingredients are changing - and my darling little demented cross-eyed tortie ain't happy about it! I've tried all the other sorts of 'sensitive' foods but she ain't having none of it and it's costing me a packet! :mad:
I went for my usual supply from Asda last week and the bag says 'Rich in Chicken-Con Pollo' (Italian I think) and under the bit that says 'For Fragile Felines' it says Per I Piu Delicati.
Now I didn't notice that the bags I bought last Tuesday say the same in English, but 'Rico Em Galinha and Para Felinos Delicados (Spanish?) where the Italian is on the usual bags. (I bet you all think I'm bonkers now eh?!
)
After opening a bag and serving it to her Royal Highness she promptly turned her nose up, so after noticing the bag had changed I looked on the back and there has been subtle differences made to the ingredients. Not much, but it might be enough to stop your cat eating ANY of them like mine did. Out came the tins of tuna...;)
I went back to Asda on Friday just to see what was on the shelf and there was both sorts there randomly displayed, as there was at Tesco too today, so I'm not sure if they are temporarily selling the Spanish version (perhaps stock availability issued with the Italian one?) or whether it's going to be a permanent change.
I just thought I'd better bring it to your attention...If they are changing it permanently I'll have to put Kizi in the pot or summit cos she won't eat owt else!
(joke!)

I sometimes buy the perfect fit catfood if I cant get JWB on promotion, or sometimes get it for a change for my cats. If they're changing the ingredient though, I better be careful as they are so parky. Maybe it would be worth you contacting the manufacturers and asking them if the changes are permanent, and explaining that your cat isnt happy about the changes.

Ooh yes, forgot to mention that bit! I did email them actually, but no reply as yet - was only about 3 days ago though...
Do JWB do a sensitive one? I hadn't tried that yet...0 -
I'm not sure if they do a sensitive cat food, but they dont use additives, preservatives or artificial colours, unsure if thats any help. If you go to the JWB website, you can request some free samples for your cat to try.

Thanks Sue, have just done that so here's hoping she'll like what they send!

Hes my big fella, Thunder, we rescued him just over 2 years ago, hes a wonderful dog, everyone that meets him falls in love with him.
Good luck with the JWB, my last cat was a very fussy eater and loved this food, and so do my 2 cats I have now, and they are spoilt rotten.

Hello, not the same food but we have a problem with whiskers pouches/tins of meat with one of our cats. She gets the runs and sickness after eating it! We have since had to avoid this make, we found out when trying the free pouches with the free kitten pack and tried again since....but still didnt go down well at all.

Hi Keely,
I once took my cat to the vets many years ago, prior to finding out that she was sensitive to certain foods and the vet told me that the higher priced brands especially Whiskas and Felix are usually the ones that cause problems in sensitive cats.
I can't remember the reasoning behind it, but she said that the cheaper ones like Katkins and Classic are sometimes better. Great news for us MSE'ers but try telling my other cats that eh?! My other non sensitive ones won't touch anything other than bl00dy Whiskas! :rolleyes:
So it might be worth trying either a 'sensitive' variety or a cheaper brand if you still have probs?0 -

I did wonder about the cheaper brands of cat food. One of mine does get a bit 'loose' when hes eaten felix or whiskas, yet the OH got them some katkins the other day, just out of curiosity, and hes been fine (the cat not the OH :rotfl:) both my cats like classic as well, but tend to get bored of it, the only thing I find they seldom get bored with is the JWB dry food.
