my daughter tried to book a room at the crestfield hotel in London in February through booking.com for may 26th her bank card was refused twice so she used ours on the third attempt refused again so she gave up and booked another instead we have email confirmation it was cancelled anyway on the day my daughter was due to arriveat the cancelled crestfield hotel charged our debit card £85 when phoned them and asked why apparently the manager said my daughter phoned day before arrival to say she still wanted the room and did not show up this is why charged now she did not phone them because there was no reason too she had another room booked cheaper elsewhere what do we do about this its fraud surely:(:(:(

Just to clarify, why did you/she recieve an emailing confirming the booking had been cancelled if it didn't go through on any of the three attempts to book?

when the booking was submitted each time we had confirmation email then a short while later email to say problem with card so asked to check details and re submit so my daughter thought she may have made a mistake entering her card details so re did it still not working so used our card same again and the email stated if we don't hear from you your booking will be cancelled they even confirmed over phone it was cancelled when questioned why they took money they said they were looking into it and would get back to us after a week phoned and was told that apparently my daughter phoned to say wanted room still when she never on day of arrival
