Personally, I would run a mile from an 'elec only' property when buying, although I realise one's options can be limited at that time.

It was relayed to me by someone that is involved in the EPC world.

I guess it is supposed to go hand in hand with making properties super dooper efficient and fully insulated leading to relatively little positive heat input - in theory.
