ebay question

I made an offer for an item, how long must I wait before being able to assume it is not going to be accepted?

Can someone please clarify the situation.

Thanks

There are times that the seller may not respond if they did not think the offer acceptable, when you made the offer then there would be a time shown for how long the offer was valid.

How close is your offer to the price ? If it is a very low offer, the seller may not even bother to respond

  • options on best offer setting

AUTO REJECTION: it was auto rejected as bid under the sellers minimum, you have 3 max chances , if its auto rejected you can try again right away.

TIME OUT: if they (seller) do nothing, its timed out after the 48 hours period, you can click buy it now at any time or try another offer.

MANUALLY REJECTED: the seller can also say no to the offer and press reject button in which case you can try two times more to offer them.

COUNTER OFFER: seller can come back ,and you can bargain and if he counter offers you can counter offer back

You cannot make another offer until the seller comes back and rejects the one you made or counter offers you. You can also retract offers as well in some cases.
NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself"
