This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

morning all:j:j
Chilly here this morning.
I think we are In for a nice day, I hope so. I looking forward to sitting out In the sun for a bit. I would have liked to have done it yesterday,
But It was very cloudy here, But warm. My My wife told me that the cloude should clear by lunchtime. But It never did.
I did get out there for an hour at tea, Time. But there was not really that much strength In the sun.
Dinner last night was a take a way curry from asda that My wife picked up when she went to get the kids from school.
Not sure what she has planned for tonight.
Today the girls will be picked up from school by my Mum and taken to there dancing lesson. and given there dinner, So Its a normal day for them, My wife is not at work today again. Lst but one of her days she has booked off,
We still don't know if she will get paid for this week that she has had off, We are hoping that she can have it as paid leave, As we really need the money, But If it turns out she can not I'm sure we will find a way of coping.
I think she is going to be doing a bit of baking today, We have no cake or anything left In the house.
I know she also needs to go to Aldi, there are a few things we need from there, I will not be going, Another day of rest for me.
I don't feel as weak this morning as I did yesterday when I got up. I have also had quite a goods nights sleep, I woke up a couple of times but fell right back off, 4:10am was when I woke up for good. I lay there for quite a while before getting out of bed. Been up and about a half hour ish now. Let one cat out, and the other one In. Taken my tablets and and half way down my first mug of coffee.
I'm haveing a bit of trouble bending forward, I can fell all the presser build up and the front of my head when I do, Not a good feeling, No dizzyness nor anything like that, So I'm not worried, And there is no pain from from it, Just strange that two out of the three of my other Ops were at the back of my head and the other one was at the side, This is the first one at the front, So some things are a bit new to me. And of course I now this Mattel plate Now too, Never had one of them before.
I have been told that the plate needs about 6-8 weeks to settle down. so no heavy lifting or anything of the like until it has. So even when I do feel stronger I need to remember not do things that I alway have done with out thinking. Like garbing one of my Kids very fast and lifting them up In the air.! Its the remembering that's going to be the problem. I have trouble with my memory anyway. I have to write a lot of lists down, So like what I need and you everyday silly stuff really, So being careful is something I'm going to have to try and keep at the forefront of my mind.
Hilly Hows you today ?
Hester I hope the gits at work , are not getting you down too much, Try thinking of all the nasty ways and all the tasteless thing you could do to them, That might help, You don't need to do any of them, (But can if you like:rotfl:)
Well another day of rest for me. I hope that everyone has a good day.
I'm off to read the rest of yesterdays thread, :j:j:j:j
Enjoy :beer::jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Goo morning everyone

Halight - I hope you have a lovely relaxing day and get some sun
Julie - I hope you are feeling like you are starting to recover today.
Don't forget both of you that a GA takes up to 72 hours to clear your body!
Molly - how do you feel after your transfusions? How is your youngest son?
A lovely day here looks promised but doubt I will see much of it .... except out of work window!
I am not complaining about work, a lot has happened in the last 3 days. Things have been very broken for an age, I work for a massive and very successful company but our site has been a disaster for a long time now. I was extremely concerned about my job and everyone else's job, I and many others didn't see how the site could possibly be sustainable but our top management have decided they are committed to the time and finance to turn the place around. I have had a lot to say, sometimes too much, in the past but I know people agree, they just don't dare to say it. I thought this would get me in trouble eventually but it seems like people have listened and noted and seen I work hard, run a tight department and keep promises I make to clients, when the company can't. So I have been added to the top level of a team to turn the place around, it's not going to be easy but I feel like we have the strength, commitment and belief to do it. It's going to be very hard work, incredibly stressful and extremely long hours but I hope it will be worth it in the end.
OK that was a bit of a ramble, sorry
Still trying to sell bits on ebay but have been too tired when I got home this week to do much. Am still trying to think about these postcards and if there is anything of interest there or should I just bin them.
Big list of jobs to do for the weekend and it gets longer by the day but DH has finished marking for a week or two, so we should have some time.
Pork, courgettes and salad for dinner. Can't remember if I reported or not but I lost 6 lb on first week of low carb so am sticking to it.
Time to go so well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super day

Molly How are you feeling today ?
I would be very willing to give blood but they will not let me.
I did however this time donate some tissue during my Op; my Doctor asked me If i would sign a form to donate some, I think its just to do tests on, So no big thing, But of course they need stuff like that so they can find new treatments and new ways of doing things. I also carry a doner card. And I would like every/any bit of my body to go and help others after my death. It will not matter to me i Will not be needing it any more.
I would also do the same with my wife's body and the twins body's too.
Both my wife and I have talked about It. And are happy with these wishes.
Its inportnat that there things are talked about so others know what you would like to be done after your death. Also if its all decided before hand then there is left stress and upset after the advent.
Heaster Are you feeling better today ?
I;m getting a bit lost with all the sick people on this thread!

Good Morning Halight glad to hear you are progressing well.Take it easy though ,baby steps and all that
.Hopefully you will get some sun today to relax in.
School run this morning and then a 'pottering day' for me.I have had a bit of a cold that I have been fighting off for a few days and now have started an bit of an irritating cough,I hate summer colds I get so few colds that my one a year seems to always arrive when the weather starts to warm up a bit.For some reason it never feels such a nuisance if its in the winter but coughing and spluttering in the sunshine isn't nice.I have a nice library book to get stuck into today so I may sit in the conservatory with a big pot of coffee and my book and just enjoy the sun.I have a list as long as your arm of things to-do but today I think I'll just do nowt for a change ,won't hurt and my to-do's will still get done ,but maybe tomorrow instead
:)
Hope all the poorlies will feel a bit better soon
Have a good day whatever you are doing.

tenyearstogo I think she just thinks I have had enough surgery bless her ,but this Monday I will see the consultant and he will explain whats involved and when and how long it will take and how quick the recovery is etc. I just want to feel more like myself and be able to buy clothes that fit better.I can't wait to be able to buy some pretty new bra's after five years of wearing the other ones .Daft it may seem to some, but important to a lot of women I think, especially after everything you go through0 -

Hi Halight and All Who Follow x
Many thanks for the thoughts - I am revving up for my transfusion today. Im always nervous but very grateful x
The modern world has made me ill. The stress of being a mother of four, working and studying has taken it's toll emotionally and physically. Perhaps I yearn for the OS life?
I watched this documentary just now and explains why some people get lost in a bygone era.....

Also these posts are very interesting....
http://www.meanqueen-lifeaftermoney.blogspot.co.ukI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning,
Molly Thinking of you today, hope it all goes well.
Halight Glad you slept. Take it easy today.
Doctor phoned me yesterday, went to see him last night. He has put my BP pills up as of today, and is determined to get all thye tests that the Hospital have asked for out of the way. I ended up telling him about Social Services and Dad, and was in tears. He was appaled and said he would write to them too ( he's Dad's GP too)
Went to sleep and woke at 12. Listened to the radio and suddenly they played "I will always love you" with Dolly Parton singing. I just burst into tears and sobbed for ages.:( I feel better this morning, although my ribs are still sore. Still it's another lovely day and I have visitors today.:T
Got my tooth fixed yesterday too.:T
Not eating a lot, but no weight loss.:o
Hope everyone has a good day.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

Beautiful day here again, Halight make sure you take it easy today.
Off to work for me, but its nearly the weekend :j wishing my weeks away here.
Kiev chips and peas tonight, and I will do a wash and get it on the airer.
Good news re little dogs insulin, she has gone fron 9 units twice a day to 3 units twice a day, so she seems to be managing very well on it, she has to have a blood test on sat so it might even be reduced more :T
Hilstep please make sure you rest love xx
have good days all xx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Cloudy and no sun at the moment - but dry and not too cold so have put washing on the line. Plants watered.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was beef stew, dumplings, mash, carrots, broccolli, peas, green beans, LO cauli/cheese. Used 2 packs of beef - and some of the meat was delicious and tender and the other was rubbery, chewy and not very nice - never had meat like that from there before - so won't be going there again. The rest of the meal was lovely though. Tonight we will be having something easy and quick - will have a delve in the freezer.
Have a list of chores to do today - so will crack on with those - DS1 only has a revision class today and we need to organise his suit for the prom etc, so we're going to do that shortly then he will go into school for the revision class later.
Keep safe and well x

Todays plans - DH and I need to sit down and discuss a few things - he is very annoying at the mo so needs to be put straight lol, I like to sort things as they happen and not let things fester, then its over the Lottie again for more weeding, ironing needs to be done as I now have 2 Mountains of the stupid stuff! After school visit to order new uniform for DD, more expense - why do blazers need to cost so much,

hillstep have a big hug
Hugs for anyone who needs one
Feel more like myself today. Still have a major limp but doesn't feel quite so sore. Not a great nights sleep and managed to wake myself up a lot every time I tried to turn over. I don't like the tablets they make me feel sick so shall keep them to just night time when I'm lying down.
The bandage comes off tomorrow and I can just apply waterproof strips to the wounds, which means I can have a proper shower:T
Dh has to work today but mum and dad will be here for lunchtime to look after me and ds3 is also around as he finished his exams yesterday. He starts year 13 on Monday up to finishing for the summer.
Tea will just be nice meat and salad sandwiches with mini pork pies pickles and coleslaw. Nice and easy. My ds2 will also pop in to see me and his gran and grandad.
Well another nice day so I shall maybe sit in the garden for half an hour.
Have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
