RBS Written to me regarding PPI...

Hi all
I could do with some helpful advice on what to do next. RBS, my bank, have written to me regarding making a possible PPI claim on historic loan accounts dating from 2007.
I have had 4 loans with RBS in the past and the previous 2, I know for a fact that I have not hot PPI on those. But the other, earlier 2 I am not so sure. I do not have any paperwork or statements to check.
My question is, are RBS writing to me because they know that PPI has been mis-sold, or are they just randomly writing to all customers?
It just seems strange to write to me if I do not have a chance anyway. But the trust is, I really can't remember as my early loans date from around 6 years ago. They ask such complex questions, and say they may contact me if I go ahead with the claim.
Bottom line is, I am just wondering, is it worth going ahead and letting them investigate because either they are A - know PPI has been mis-sold or B - they are just writing to ALL customers as part of the ongoing process.
Thanks

well, you know, you could not fill it in and receive nothing, or you could fill it in and possibly receive something......Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Correct.they are just writing to ALL customers as part of the ongoing process.
All customers with PPI that is.
It's an invitation to complain, not an admission of any liability.
It allows the Bank to eventually apply a time-bar against further complaints.
If you have a valid complaint then complain, if not then don't.0 -

The letter doesnt mean there is a mis-sale. It means you had PPI and they are inviting you to complain if you want to. It allows them to start the time bar clock.
If you have reasons to complain, you do so. If not, then you dont.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Great, that pretty much answers my question then thanks all.
I really can't remember if I paid it on the first 2 loans.0 -
Oh hang on....so you're saying that RBS know that I paid PPI, but want to know if I want to complain?0

Correct. Remember there is nothing wrong with PPI. It is how it was sold where there was failings in a number of cases. As you have PPI, they are letting you know that you can complain to them if you wish.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
