RMG Service Charge

Hello all,
In need of some advice, at the last stage of completing on a new house, we have been informed we have a service charge payable to a company named RMG.
The seller has offered too pay the first 2 years for us, however is there a way you can opt out of such charges? I am buying a house in a street of about 14 houses and the majority of the service charge is for the upkeep of properties around the corner on the same area.
Has anyone had anything similar, and been able to opt out?
Thanks,
MK:T

No you can't "opt out", but you shouldn't be paying for the "upkeep" of properties around the corner you should only be paying your share of the upkeep of common outside areas (including those around the corner, of course).
You need your sol to get the details of past payments and have him explain how your share is worked out.0
