Did you have PPI?
Did GMAC sell it to you? (unlikely given their distribution method)
when did you buy it? (before or after January 2005)
was it monthly premium or single premium?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. hi
totally unsure if i even had ppi on these mortages.
i took out the mortgage via a broker.
1 was in 2005 and 1 was prior to that.
sorry if i am vaque but really cant remember.
thanks0 -
Not helpful.totally unsure if i even had ppi on these mortages.
The potential complaint prior to 2005 is pre-regulation and so is definitely over before it begins.i took out the mortgage via a broker.

The latter one will need to be backed up with some evidence. How can you complain that mortgage PPI was mis-sold to you if you're not even certain that you had the insurance?0 -
hi
well i would say thank you all for your constructive help and advice, but I can't, as all you have given me is rude comments. So consider this thread closed and I will look elsewhere for advice.0 -
You have no idea if you actually had MPPI, who sold it to you and when. Without that information, your complaints are already over because no one here has a crystal ball.
Rude? Maybe. You on the other hand, are something else, which I won't write.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Thread closed (and complaint ended) indeed.0

It isnt being rude. It is an overview of your situation. Look at the blunt facts.
1 - you dont know if you had PPI. So, you are asking if you complain about something you dont know you had.
2 - first case was pre 2005. So, you cannot complain about that one. Second case was post 2005, so you could complain about that one. However, it is against a mortgage broker. Mortgage brokers have a lower compliance rate and success rate against them. MPPI also has a lower success rate on complaints as it is a PPI that is generally regarded as worth having.
3 - Most MPPI is monthly premium direct debit. You were asked in post #2 if it was monthly premium or single premium. Yet you didnt answer that key question. (monthly direct debit comes from your bank account - it indicates whether you had it for starters).
Asking elsewhere is not going to help you. You are effectively asking if you were mis-sold a product that you don't know you had or not through a distribution channel that has a low complaints upheld rate for a product that has a lower complaint upheld rate and are unable to provide us any information that would indicate either way whether this hypothetical product was mis-sold or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
