Behaviour Adjustment Training, any experiences?

I have just read Behaviour Adjustment Training by Grisha Stewart (http://functionalrewards.com/bat-videos-books/behavior-adjustment-training-book/) in an attempt to try and teach my delinquent pooch he doesn't need to act like a muppet around other dogs.
It does make a lot of sense, but I have no idea where I would find 'decoy' dogs to practice with!
Has anyone had any experience of this sort of training?
I have googled to see if anyone teaches it in this area but can't find anything

I read it but didn't implement it , as you've discovered, it relies on stooge dogs for it to work, which to be fair, all the different methods do, I don't have access to numerous stooge dogs of the right temperament, and there are very few dog classes where I am, and I wouldn't use the ones that are available.
I concentrated on basic obedience with my own dog, and avoid other dogs like the proverbial plague , which is easy for me being in the country.
I look at things differently now, my dogs telling me she doesn't feel safe if strange dogs approach her, so I listen to her, and try to never put her in that situation.0 -
I could avoid dogs if I wanted to as I am also in the country, but woof is so good at more 'social' activities like agility I really would like to be able to take part in these and have him enjoy himself rather than climbing the walls constantly!
He has made some huge improvements recently but I wanted some sort of structured training technique to try and ensure I am not going to accidentally do anything to set him back or make him worse.
Been researching trainers around here and most of them either only seem to do training for good citizens award (which he is already doing) or I have already tried them and they have written us off!0 -
Have you looked here ? http://www.apdt.co.uk/Been researching trainers around here and most of them either only seem to do training for good citizens award (which he is already doing) or I have already tried them and they have written us off!
You may already be aware, but just in case, watch out for franchise operations such as Bark Busters who only require their trainers to go through a basic 6 month course, or any Cesar Milan wannabe's .0 -
You can use regular neighbourhood dogs for decoy dogs if you're careful enough (and not fussed about looking a bit crazy!). You just have to control the distance yourself, and make sure you have an exit strategy incase the people start coming towards you.0

Thanks Celli, I have looked on there and there is nothing close enough. One of the problems of living in the middle of nowhere!
Krlyr, trouble is most of the local dogs now peg it in the opposite direction if they see us coming so I am struggling with that! My fault I suppose as I did a bit of promo for the yellow ribbon campaign to try and get a bit of distance from people when pooch was at his most delinquent, but now they have taken it to the extreme!
Looking crazy is my specialty, got a few odd looks earlier sticking post-it notes to the grass on the park to have a go at rally!0
