SimplySwitch didn't transfer my electricity.
I had an email confirmation from them that I was moving both fuels. But on ringing my new supplier to find out what was happening to my electricity switch (as I had a live date for my Gas), they told me they had no instruction from simplyswitch to take my electricity too.
Passing the buck, or did simplyswitch not live up to their 'simply' name? grrr.

Have you asked simplyswitch about this?
If you apply to switch, you usually receive pieces of correspondence
(a) from the new supplier tnaking you for applying - that will usually state what you are applying for
and
(b) from your old supplier with a 'sorry you are leaving' - that will also usually state what you are leaving
Did you get either or both of these and if so, what did they say?0 -
Did you have any debts on the electric meter? Most companies aren't able to conduct a transfer if there is debt on the meter. This could explain why only one transfer happened?0

Nope, I paid the winter debt before the transfer, then npower applied my £100 DD discount, so was a good £60 up. Plus all the winter debt was on Gas (as would be expected), and that went through fine.
oh, and it wouldn't be for SS to not send my instruction to new supplier because I was in debt (hypothetically) as SS wouldn't know... it would be for new supplier to either refuse the instruction immediately, or be denied it from old supplier one they are in talks. New supplier say they never had the instruction.0 -
Had this problem last year with British gas and twice this year with Spark. Simplyswitch suggest contacting the new supplier so I'd say its simplyswitch dropping data. If the new supplier or old does not get in touch within 3 weeks then I'd try again or another switching cash back site.0

Still no response from SS yet, but after redoing the Elec switch, have now received paperwork. I should have realised sooner after receiving the gas paperwork that I should have had teh elec stuff through within a few days of it.
Another interesting oddity is that New supplier say that Gas supply starts on 6 June, but Old supplier want my gas reading for final bill on 10 June. I hope to goodness that I'm not going to get a 4 day overlap in my standing charge!0 -

When you spoke to your new supplier and enquired how the electric switch was progressing, I'm surprised they didn't arrange with you to start a switch if they didn't otherwise have any instruction :cool:0 -

I definitely believe we are getting into the realms of fantasy now, even if I had any doubts previously.
When you switch supplier you provide your meter reading to the new supplier. They then pass that to the old supplier - so you don't need to0 -
Applied via SimplySwitch to change electricity supply on 29th Nov 2013 and when I hadn't heard anything by Christmas, I rang First Utility, the company I had applied to switch to. They said they had no record of a switching application! When I contacted SimplySwitch they said there had been an 'unseen eror' in the process and it wasn't their fault, I would need to apply again. This is despite receiving all the confirmation emails from SimplySwitch. I applied agian and when I contacted First Utility again they said there was a problem with the application which prevented it being processed. SimplySwitch said, again, it's not our fault and wern't interested. I would stay well clear of SimplySwitch.0

Don't suffer brokers in silence!
Google ofgem+confidence+code and put in a complain to simply switch.
Simply switch sends a batch of switch request every morning and FU will confirm the total received as an acknowledgement.
Chances are, simply switch will cough £40 including a single energy supply cash back payment.0
