Debit card in washing machine - oops!

I have just washed my OHs debit card at 40 degrees - oops, it looks fine, and very clean!

Do I need to tell him to call the bank for a new one or will it be OK?

I've washed my bank cards multiple times accidentally, as well as used them to clear ice from the car window, and they've always been fine, apart from the signature on the back looking slightly faint. :p

Would have to wait until tomorrow, my son is in bed and OH has gone out.

Have you got a card reader at home from any bank?

    Thanks

It looks fine to be honest, even the signature looks OK.

    No, I don't.

He gave me the card to draw money out of his account to pay the roofer who fixed our chimney pots, and I washed it in the back pocket of my jeans, so its my fault, I think he wanted to get diesel with it tomorrow, oh dear, he will have to use a CC if its no good and just pay it off straight away.

Solve 2 problems with one then - try and pay with the fresly washed card and it works, bingo, otherwise he has an alternative method of payment and can get a replacement ordered.

I've washed mine before on a boil wash, and the card looked a right state, it has even fetched part of the magnetic strip off, but it still worked in the chip and pin machines!

I'm pretty sure that's called money laundering.

You need to throw it out a window before it explodes.
