Any tenant signed an inspection form?

Hi, I was wondering has any tenant ever signed any inspection form when a landlord / agent has been round for an inspection?
I'm really worried now as I'm having problems with my landlord / place. I hadn't had any inventory done on the property when I moved in. The place is awful but I was desperate when I moved in.
When the inspection was done I was asked to sign somethin. Normally I'm so very carefully about everything I sign. I remember looking at it but my mind's gone blank about what it was. I was too busy telling him about all the other stuff that needed doing.
Can someone reassure me that it's usual practice and also that there's no way an agent would be that cocky to put an inventory on a clipboard for me to sign. For all he knows I could have clocked it was an inentory. Hetook about three minutes to look around the house.
I hope my mind's just working overtime.

Did you sign and date? Inventories should be signed and dated, I don't think an inventory would be admissible for deposit protection purposes if it's not dated by the signee. If you did sign and date then it'll be clear that the inventory was signed after you had moved in (I think there's a 7 day grace period normally) which will mean it is not valid.
You could ask the agent for a copy of the inspection form that you signed today to be emailed / posted to you, if it turns out to be an inventory then you will be able to approach a tenancy dispute with this invalid inventory information in hand.
Edited to add that I have signed an inspection form for a routine inspection previously.0 -

How long have youbeen there?Ifyou didnot get/sign an inventory when you moved in, that is a problem for the LL, not you.
I doubt this was an inventory, and if you dated it,then the fact thedate does not match tenancy start date will make it useless.
Have you reported all the issues by letter to theLL?0 -
Thanks Criticsquid - relief to know that someone else has signed an inspection thingy. For some reason my mind's gone blank about what I signed.
I can't imagine that anyone would be so underhand but you never know reading the stuff on this forum and especially after landlord's mother suggested painting over mould in the cupboards.
Yes G_M, I typed up a letter in bullet form yesterday and posted it today with a certificate of posting. Thanks for the advice re that

Ive never signed an inspection report and no idea why anyone would either.
You are under no obligation to let the agent do any inspections, and why would you sign someone just to confirm they had done one? It has absolutely no value or use to you.0
