Exchange load - 2.99%
Spending charge - None

Not looking to withdraw cash what so ever, just for use in supermarkets (Spar) in Lanzarote and restaraunts.

Not looking to spend much either, £100 at most if that.

So is it any good to use ?

It's the same as the majority of CCs, nothing special. Make sure you have a backup card.

that's interesting - spending charge none? Am I reading this wrong or does that mean it costs nothing to use it in overseas POS machines? (or is that normal anyway)

Quite often there is no additional charge for POS (CREDIT CARDS), debit cards tend to have a charge...they do for cash withdrawals as I assume they have to pay the ATM operator a fee.
I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.

Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!

It means there is no set fee per transaction like Lloyds. Where they charge a £1 per transaction + 2.99% of the transaction.

Whereas Vanquis just charge 2.75% per transaction. To answer the OP, that'll barely cost anything for a £100 spend (£2.75), so its fine to use.

That's interesting is that, I was under the impression that any kind of spending abroad on a credit OR debit card was extortionate unless you had a Halifax clarity, nationwide Cc or aqua - ha.

No, not extortionate, as long as its a card with just the 2.75% of 2.99% fee, it will still probably be better than buying cash. Its obviously better to get the Halifax or other fee free card though.
