I sometimes get the feeling that there are some users on this forum who get off on trying to make others feel stupid by being rude - perhaps they were bullied at school and have never quiet gotten over it
OP is the one who came here ranting about the inadequacies of their agent, when they are the ones in the wrong in this scenario. Whilst I agree some members seem to delight in rubbing salt into the wound, there are others looking for sympathy for a plight they apparently have brought on themselves, and only seem to want to acknowledge replies from those willing to hold their hand and tell them it will all go away. Sorry, real life ain't like that ...0 -
Technically they should give 24hrs notice of a visit but I see nothing wrong with them turning up on the off chance so that they could look at the windows that you reminded them about.
You can still refuse to let them in but if it was me I'd be thinking great they are actually doing something about it. It would also have been an opportunity to show that the rent money had left your account. It's someone else's fault.0 -

But that's notice for an internal visit, or inspection, not just knocking on the door for a chat, or dropping a note off... Equally, I completely agree... OP could have shown them the rent had left their account, or the extreme lengths they were going to in order to ensure it was paid.... or not, as seems the case.0 -
Hang on, the OP can't get it together to ring their bank for another week, but they've got the time and energy to sign up to an internet forum and get everyone riled up, then post a second time with the sole purpose of stirring things up a bit more? I think you may be wasting your time here, folks.0

I did wonder TBH, but having suggested someone was a troll recently, and got shouted down for it, I decided to give them benefit of doubt. You never know what you will see next here :rotfl:0 -
Harassment by Landlord's agent
It's not harassment to ask for rent that is legitimately owed, even if the agent calls 20 times a day.0 -
Oh my goodness, a genuine poster could not possibly think an agent needs to give notice to put a letter through their door!!! Then they think it's okay to sit around complaining rather than urgently sort out the fact they have not paid their most important bill, the one which could cost them the roof over their head? This can't be real.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
