Credit score 324?!

Been a bit bothered of late by the troublesome phone calls regarding financial matters, ppi and the like. Today I had a phone call regarding a loan I was turned down for. The guy was genuinely surprised that I have not applied for a loan.

Off to Experian for a free report.

Here is my situation. Mortgage settled, one credit card paid off each month in full. Very large credit limit cards ( from a business 12 years ago ) all settled. Never late with any bills, Also a great deal of money in accounts, Nat West, Halifax and more.

Why is my score so low? Thanks.

These scores might as well be used to predict the weather. There's a thread just a few posts down from this that will shed some light on the pointlessness of these scores. You could be a perfect example of why.

...because someone decided you should have a low random number?

Your credit score is based on the data so some of the data is causing it to be low or lack of something (no or little history, not on Electoral Roll, short time at the address etc..), don't worry about it.

Is there any detrimental information on your file? That is all that matters!

Don't worry about the score, focus on ensuring your credit file is accurate.

Does your experian file show you as being on the electoral roll at your current address?
Is the credit account history accurate?
Do you have any financial associations showing on file? and are they correct?
Does it show any recent credit searches - and are they accurate.

Your savings are irrelevant to your credit file.

The phone calls are just dodgy sales calls, providing there are no incorrect credit application searches on your files they are of no concern except for being annoying.

You'd be as well obtaining your credit score from my website which will provide a score every bit as meaningful as the ones you can get from the credit reference agencies

I wont charge you for the privilege either. Well not unless you insist!

Blimey, I've got a lower score than pobby. What should I do to fix my credit score?

It's got worse. Is it because I've eaten a banana since the last score?

I got 919 - that new £25k loan is a sure bet - they won't be worried that I was declared bankrupt in March and currently live on a park bench will they?

I can provide a guarantor if necessary (providing Strange Dave is sober enough to sign the forms).

My ex has an IVA and a score thats way above mine. He thinks its very amusing. When we had financially linked accounts my score was actually higher and now I have had him removed my score has gone down even lower than it was!
