Last minute ? Fact or fiction

Hello
I was wondering if last minute cheaper holidays still exist?

Like in the old days off of teletext lol

We have three children and are trying to work out if it will be cheaper to have a stay cation in GB and rent a log cabin or go to Spain etc.

Prices I am finding now for August are approx 2.5 k self catering and around 3k all inclusive.

We would fly from anywhere driveable.

Do the prices actually come down much? Do they go up?

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

Prices for popular holidays go up, and for 'dogs' they may come down. You might save money by going on the holiday that no-one else wants, but then there may be a reason why it is so unpopular.

Disenchanted

Go on Jet2Holidays (for example) onto the Late Deal section, and filter the results by board type and star rating (which should enable you to omit all of the 1* 2* horror hotels). Yesterday I found a 5* holiday in Crete which was something really good like £420pp so I think there are some good deals to be had!
