Lloyds TSB Mortgages impossible to contact

I went into a branch and got a mortgage promise. Now I've found a house I can't get hold of them on the phone to take them up on it.
Their phone system is a nightmare of button pressing, but when I finally get through to the centralised mortgage department I'm on hold forever and the message tells me to try again in a few days.
So I tried pressing the buttons to get hold of a real person, and got someone who told initially me to try again later, but after I pestered him he agreed to put me through to the branch I had got the mortgage promise from but cut me off instead.
Undaunted I pressed the buttons to get hold of a real person again who put me through to the branch, but they aren't answering the phone, please try again later.
I've filled in the webform for a ringback but none so far.
All of this technology they have invested in and it looks like I'm going to have to use the old fashioned method of walking into the branch again.

Go into the branch , you will probably be dealt with by just one mortgage advisor and in such a large financial commitment it is nice to be able to deal face to face with the same person.0
