What is happening with this house?!

Our house sold just over a week ago.
We had an offer accepted on a hour we want.
When our house sold, within half hour it was showing SSTC on rightmove.
Our house we want was accepted last Thursday. I emailed the estate agent on the weekend to enquire why it wasn't showing SSTC on their website or rightmove/Internet sites.
He said sometimes it takes a while for the sites to update.
Yesterday the house was still showing for sale.
Called estate agent who again repeated that sometimes it took the site a while to update.
Now I know this isn't true as I called my own estate agent who said he clicks something on his rightmove & within half hour it's updated.
Today the house is now showing as being removed from the market. Well it's not showing at all on the estate agents site or rightmove.
I can see it as I have it saved to my favourites.
I know, I should call the EA but I am sick of his BS. The vendors are lovely people. But they did accept £5,000 below their asking price (we accepted lower as well as we have can buyers!)
I do know the vendors are relocating (retirement I assume) & the house has been on the market since last October.
Can you people reassure me that this is what happens when you try & purchase a house, that it goes belly up from the start!
Many thanks
(P.s. I will call the agent later on when I can be nice on the phone to him )

All i can reasure you is that if you think the EA taking 3 working days to fully remove the property from the interweb is "things going belly up" you're in for a very very rough ride!
take a deep breath, and relax, or it might kill you!0 -
The one I was buying disappeared for a bit. Give it a day or so and check again. If you're panicking that much, get a friend to ring with the same criteria that fits the house you're buying and see if they offer a viewing.
Are you near enough to see if there's a Sold board now outside the property (presuming they had a For Sale board)?
As above, you'll probably have three months of insecurity... tighten that seatbelt!

Might seem a silly answer, but when checking on Rightmove are you selecting Sold Subject to Contract option if not it wont show on Properties for sale0

Yeah, am checking the SStC bit. I have the house saved on my favourites & it shows all faded with the message "this proper,t has been removed by the agent"
The For Sale sign was still up yesterday.
Will go & look again later as am viewing another house in the same area.
Our house is all systems go. Surveyor from our buyers is coming this Friday. And we're in a brilliant position as ours are cash buyers, no chain, and our mortgage is good to go.
Thanks for replying all.0 -
it could be IT problems from the estate aget side, deleted the posting instead of setting it SSTC, lol. but youre right it should be quick and easy to set that status from the EA side so shouldnt take that long.
id call the EA and check in with them everything is ok for peace of mind (from my previous experience)0 -
I think it's a positive to be completed removed from RM rather than SSTC?0

Hi,
Have you provided details to the EA to show you are a serious buyer? Our EA would not mark our house as sold until they had seen the buyers AIP/DIP etc.0 -
some estate agents just remove completely for some reason. Some put SSTC and some under offer until completion.
Ours now says Under offer even though the offer was accepted and we asked them to change it to SSTC . We stressed about it for a bit then decided as long as they arent accepting viewings it should be ok x0 -

Absolutely, from your point of view as the buyer! Why on earth would you want it to still show a listing, perhaps inviting other potential buyers to phone up on the off chance that the owner and EA will agree to show it to them and possibly gazump you???
I'm guessing that you're anxious about whether this means that the owner has changed their mind and no longer wants to sell it to you. If this was the case, you'd almost certainly have been told so. The fact that the listing was removed just after you complained that it was still listed as "for sale" almost certainly means that they removed to try to keep you happy0
