Computer running slow.

I have read threads in the past regarding slow running computers.

I am hoping that someone can help me by giving me advice on programs which I do not need to be running. From an earlier thread it was suggested that a hijackthis log was a good idea, so I have done this.

I would appreciate if someone could advise me on what to do next

not much wrong there, Zonealarm slows Pc's down sometimes, try replacing that with comodo

also make sure that the anti phishing tool in IE7 is turned off (it's under Tools on the right top of the screen)

I run Ad-aware scans fairly regularly, maybe 2 or 3 times a week. Is this ok?

the anti phishing tool is under tools (top right of the screen , looks like a cog)

no...take your pick out of the 2 antivirus i posted both free

if you replace zonealarm don't forget to download comodo, disconnect from the internet and uninstall Zonealarm, then install comodo before connecting to the internet again

Also if you've been running your computer without an antivirus app all this time then it may be worth going through the malware removal guide posts 1 to 4, just in case.
