They have checked and agreed that I had paid everything I ever been asked to pay. There are no arrears and my case is shut. Would they have told me if I had just paid up?? I doubt it but this is a lesson for everyone GET A COMPLETE BREAKDOWN. I had one done 6 months before I finished and had kept it. Lucky I did!!!

Great. You had a letter from them confirming the case is closed?

I would ignore any further correspondence from them direct. Don't speak to anyone on the phone...especially 'proper little madam' plus the fact they always ask to provide your details ie NINO etc. Don't. Ask for theirs instead! :)

See what happens. All correspondence via MP now so you have a paper trail. Ask for another account breakdown etc.

Stay cool and they can sod off.

    Keep us updated.

This seems a very foolish piece of advice.

As you work for the csa can you elaborate given the matter is with the OP's MP? All correspondence will be through the MP.

    Please note I said 'direct'.

Edit: I was wondering whether you could post the Advance Payment Criteria on the sticky link. I have only got it in pdf form.It would prove very useful here on MSE.

An excellent strategy - or possibly not :rotfl:

So if the CSA say a case is closed and have provided documentation to that effect and said that all arrears have been cleared - how are they able to re-open a case and demand more money.?

There seems to be something a little '!!!!!! Turpin' about this - or am I missing something..??

What would make you certain that all correspondence was also going to your mp? If you got something direct from the CDs would you not want to contact your mp to make sure they were aware of whatever had been sent to you?

Ps: I don't actually work for the CSA.

    To answer your question.

I've been using my MP for years...well not for the past 6 months now and it's bliss as everything is finally sorted. A regular payment and no arrears. No more Bolton!

The CSA have always replied to her letters and given the necessary information. It creates a nice paper trail. Her files for my case runs thick and she has presented me with a few early files. If anything did come direct ( like numerous incorrect account breakdowns / reports for ICE etc) I simply popped to her office and they photocopied it all.

I thought you did work for the CSA or have you now moved on?

File all the correspondence away and frame that letter :)

Don't throw anything out. Keep it all forever.
