Removal of Rayburn cooker

Can anyone please tell me:

- which type of workman would be necessary to disconnect and remove a Rayburn cooker from a house?

- how long it would take?

- likely charge to do this or would they pay the owner of the cooker (ie because they could sell it on)?

- any other helpful info. re this?

Everything will depend on fuel type, age and condition, have a look on Ebay to get an idea of prices. It is also not an Aga which was everyone's dream cooker in the day.

Prices are falling and if it is an old one I would just try and do a deal for no money just to remove it.

Getting someone to come and do it in a time scale suitable to you might very well be your biggest problem.
  • It's an oil-fired Rayburn. It looks like its in good condition.

As far as I can work out googling around it looks as if someone would possibly pay £350-£500 for it.

Judging my mate who runs a reclamation yard, it would be him and his teenage sidekick, who is very stupid but is strong as an ox with a great work ethic. I have seen him strip a school hall of parquet flooring in an hour!

It doesnt need any particular skills other than common sense and a bit of brute force and ignorance to remove a rayburn.
  • :rotfl::rotfl:. Yes, I should say sheer physical strength would be one qualification for this:rotfl:.
