Howdens - how to get a good trade price?

Your fitter will. What he gets will depend on the relationship he has with the branch, his spending patterns and which kitchen range you are looking to buy.I don't think Phil has, unless I'm missing something.
Does each builder need to get a separate howdens quotation? Is that what you are saying?
different fitters get different pricesI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
However, I had a customer yesterday tell me that he's found a bespoke oak kitchen (think it's a fairly small one) for the same price as the DIY chains so it might pay to think outside the box a bit and shop around.
I can support this from my own experience: a bespoke kitchen is probably not quite the same price as one from the DIY chains, but I was amazed how little difference there is in price. Of course it's a huge difference in quality.
This is when you buy the complete kitchen - units and appliances
from the same place. The bespoke guys were quite a bit dearer on the units but they gave me unbelievably great prices for the appliances and handles. The appliances Internet deal was for delivery only. The bespoke guys took my old appliances away and installed the new ones. All that for 15% less than the best Internet deal.0 -
A word of warning about Howden's kitchen designers. I had two different designers from two different Howdens branches come to measure & design my kitchen (and one from Benchmarx too
) and none of them got the measurements right!
My builder was playing one branch against the other to get the best price, but even with their own man designing it, I still had to send stuff back and re-order the correct stuff. They only charged for one delivery in the end though, despite us having 4 all told.
Oh and I had Howdens flooring as well...................and they underestimated the quantity needed for that too! :rotfl:
I'm very pleased with my kitchen and flooring though and all the hassle was worth it in the end.
So my advice to the OP is to measure the kitchen yourself and compare your measurements with the kitchen designer's and then look at the cupboard sizes in the brochure with the designer. Don't let them try to sell you things you don't want. It's your kitchen and you have to make sure it works for you.
Good luck0
