Stirling Law - experiences?

Hi everyone, hope you can help. I'm a first time buyer, very close to exchanging contracts. I chose a conveyancer from the YBS panel which was nearest/cheap, and this is Stirling Law.
They've been fine so far. Within the first week I was told that my conveyancer changed from Fiona Gordon to Kerry Sharples, and since then (February) Kerry has handled everything fine. Then the last week, I was supposed to be completing on 31st May but hadn't got the contract to sign etc.
After chasing and chasing I got it through on the Friday, and then returned everything for Monday before Noon. Then I don't hear anything again for two days so in follow-up I find out that Kerry has now also left the firm supposedly. The Director, Joe Johnston, is now handling my file.
I'm beginning to panic a bit over things. I'm about to exchange which means handing over the deposit. It's late, and on top of that the person I've been dealing with has suddenly left without any warning/notice.
When I look online about the firm, I'm not seeing reassuring things at all
I know that I could go to the Legal Ombudsman and to the SRA (Stirling Law are regulated by them, I've checked) if I have problems or if my money goes missing, but the stress of that would end me.
Has anyone else had experience of this or with Stirling Law? Is this just me being jittery as it's the first time, or should I really be worried?

Hi all just wondering if anyone could advise on whether the above is normal? I know to expect delays etc. but is changing solicitors often a fairly normal thing esp at this stage? Am I just overly jittery?!0
