lost luggage and travel insurance?

Options
we are going on holiday next month (outside europe) and i know that there is high risk of losing luggage as i flied with this airline 3 times before and on 2 occassions the luggage arrived few days later after it went missing. i have no choice but to fly with this company (by the way it s a very major european airline) and my question is if our luggage get lost or delayed and the airline comensates me, will i be still able to claim on my travel insurance? also i have personal belongings cover abroad on my home content insurance so will i be able to claim on that? sorry if it sounds stupid question but i have never had travel insurance before!

KLM lost my luggage TWICE and on both occasions refused compensation (and not even an appology) as I had travel insurance. Apparently it is common practise for them to leave passengers luggage behind so that they can accomodate frieght.
