Hi
It looks like someone is using my email address to send emails which then are not getting delivered so I get the failure reports.
I have a domain like @myname, and anything before the @ comes through to me.
Can I stop someone sending emails which appear to come from something@myname ?
Thanks

No. Anybody can manually (or program to automatically write in) anything they want in the "from field" in emails. But you may want to change your email host's setting so you don't get everything sent to your domain, only specified addresses. It can be a pain, I've got a list of about 300 addresses on my domain but I get zero spam and nobody has happened to use any of those specified addresses as their "from address"."She is quite the oddball. It's their own domain, so it doesn't make a difference who their ISP is. For all I know exactly the same may be being sent to my domain but because of my above method I'll never receive them."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Some more detail here (how to block random names before the @) http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=4612840

Although you may be better doing it on the email server and simply switching off the "catchall" option. Adding rules to your email client still means that you are downloading unnecessary email."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
