Im moving house on 21st June and im current on the EDF Blue price Promise April 2014 for Gas and elec.
The new build is currently with EON.
Can you tell me what i need to do? This is the first time ive moved house (other than being a FTB). I'm not necessarily bothered about staying with EDF. just need to know what to do and whst tariff is cheaper etc.
Theres 2 of us, 3 bed new build semi.

You should be given a welcome pack by your housebuilder which should explain what you have to do.
They should also run through the main points in the handover.
If they don't, name & shame them here.
To find the cheapest energy tariff(s) for you, consult a comparison site:

On the day you move in, not before, contact Eon to advise them of your residency and give them the meter readings - Keep a note of these readings safe
Eon will automatically put you on their Expensive 'Standard' tariff, but you are free to Switch supplier or negotiate a better deal with them, as soon as you get their Welcome Pack through the post
Your deal with EDF expires when you move out of your present home, so give them the meter readings as you leave0 -
Morning lottie0311,
Ace advice from dogshome :T Thank you!
Yes, contact us on the day you move in, we will need some of your details, (phone number etc) meter readings, it's also a good idea to have a note of the meter serial numbers with it being a new build.
We will set you an account up, you can also set up a payment arrangement and ask about the tariff that would be best for you, then you can go on it straight away.
As the others mention, you can pop your details in to a comparison site as well.
Once the account is all set up, you can register online, this means you can enter your own reads, produce your own bills, keep track of usage etc.
If you need any help, just let me know
