Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any adivce on how I can cancel my o2 contracts as I am leaving the country and they have said I need to pay in full the remaining 6 months.
I have my house phone with them and 2 mobile contacts which are on Simplicity.
Thanks
K:)

If you are still within the minimum contract period, you will be liable for payment for the rest of the term - this will be in the contract you agreed to.0

Yeah, you need to pay off the contracts.0

Looks like you need to pay off the contract - when you say leaving, is there intention to come back?
Any scope to downgrade the contract to a lower cheaper tariff to reduce how much you have to pay..
Is your mobile phone worth enough to sell on to use the proceeds to pay off the contract..0 -

No, o2 don't offer such early terminations as a rule.
I was done for iPhone 3G owners who wanted to upgrade to the 3GS (paid off remaining months, but with no discounts).
Also o2 can agree to let you pay off a contract early, if you're moving abroad, or really really want to move to another provider, but there's no hard and fast rule, it's down to the discretion of the CS.

What I do find most annoying it that they charge you VAT (Vodafone excepted) in the Early Termination Fee and no discount for the fact you are no longer using their services (inclusive texts, minutes and data).
I do think http://www.o2.co.uk/refresh is the way to go in the future...seperate the phone contract from the service contract.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
